This Privacy Policy describes how KannadaMaadi ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data through kannadamaadi.com (the "Platform"). By visiting the Platform or providing your information, you expressly agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy and the applicable laws of India, including those relating to data protection and privacy.
Data We Collect
- Your email address when you create an account or sign in with Google
- Your phone number if you start checkout (Cashfree receipts / UPI)
- Your lesson progress, which lessons you've listened to, quiz scores, and SRS review history
- Payment transaction information (order ID, status), card numbers are processed solely by Cashfree and are never stored by us
- Basic server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, retained for 30 days
- Usage behaviour and preferences to improve the product on an aggregated, anonymised basis
Where Your Data Lives
Knowing where data is stored matters under GDPR, CCPA, and Indian IT rules. Our primary systems are:
- Application database (accounts, progress, orders) — PostgreSQL hosted by Render
- Application hosting & logs — Render
- Email — Brevo (transactional and optional marketing)
- Payments — Cashfree (India); we never receive or store card numbers
- Product analytics — PostHog EU cloud
- Traffic / heatmaps — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity
- Static audio CDN (when enabled) — Cloudflare R2 or compatible object storage
A longer inventory for operators lives in our repository security notes. Secrets and API keys stay on the server — they are never shipped to the browser.
